Now that summer has finally wound down, it’s time to get ahead of the curve and prepare for colder weather. Here are some helpful guidelines in identifying roof damage.

While snow looks beautiful as it falls, if not handled appropriately, it can put a lot of stress on you. Too much snow on a home or building can cause your attic to leak, roof to rot or collapse. The following are some signs that your roof may collapse:

• Cracked walls in your home or building
• Sagging roof
• Increased roof leaking

If your roof has any flat parts to your roof, you’ll find that you’re even more prone to these issues. To properly eliminate snow from your roof, remove it with a roof rake or a shovel. You should begin at the edge and go up with descending moving strokes.
