- Before you place your ladder, check the area around you. Avoid areas that are muddy, icy or snow to prevent any injuries to yourself or those around you. It’s also important to ensure that the ground is level so that you and the ladder don’t tip and come crashing down to the ground.
- Be sure that as you make your way up your ladder, you’re climbing with dry shoes. If you’re using a hose to help with cleaning your gutters, have a towel handy to dry off your shoes if they get wet in the process.
